China’s four global initiatives on development, security, civilization and governance are being described as a unified framework to address today’s complex global challenges. Rooted in the idea of shared destiny, these initiatives emphasize cooperation, mutual benefit and peaceful coexistence among nations.
According to former SCO Secretary General Bolat Nurgaliyev, the initiatives respond to growing global issues such as mistrust, confrontation and unequal development. He notes that China’s approach promotes security without exclusion and development without domination, offering practical solutions rather than abstract concepts.
The initiatives have gained international recognition through their inclusion in UN resolutions and regional forums. With projects like the Belt and Road Initiative and growing engagement in AI and cyberspace governance, China is positioning these frameworks as tools for inclusive global progress, particularly for the Global South.
