Pakistani Consul General Shehzad Ahmad Khan highlighted the global significance of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan during an exclusive interview in Shanghai. Launched alongside the 75th anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic relations, the plan aims to drive high-quality growth, innovation, and multilateral cooperation.
The Consul General noted that the plan’s focus on green technologies, digital innovation, and international connectivity will create opportunities for developing countries like Pakistan. Greater market access and outbound investment from China could directly benefit Pakistan’s economy.
Official data shows China contributed roughly 30% of global economic growth annually during the previous Five-Year Plan. With GDP surpassing 140 trillion yuan in 2025, the country remains the world’s second-largest economy, reinforcing its role as a driver of global economic stability and growth.
