Economic and trade teams from China and the United States have recently finalized the framework for implementing the key consensus reached during the June 5 phone conversation between their presidents. This step also reinforces the progress made during their economic and trade talks held earlier in Geneva, according to a spokesperson from China’s Ministry of Commerce.
The spokesperson noted that both sides continued their communication after holding further discussions in London from June 9 to 10, during which the two parties worked closely to confirm specific implementation details.
As part of the agreement, China will process and approve export applications for qualified controlled items in line with its laws, while the United States will lift a range of restrictive measures that had been imposed on China.
China expressed the hope that the U.S. will make full use of the bilateral economic and trade consultation mechanism to enhance mutual understanding, reduce misperceptions, and deepen cooperation to ensure the steady, healthy, and sustainable growth of their economic and trade ties.
