The Chinese and Russian navies are set to conduct the “Joint Sea-2025” military exercise in August, taking place in waters and airspace near Russia’s Vladivostok, a Chinese Defence Ministry spokesperson confirmed on Wednesday.
Senior Colonel Zhang Xiaogang stated that the upcoming drills are part of the annual cooperation framework between the two militaries. Once the joint exercise concludes, selected naval units from both nations will proceed with the sixth joint maritime patrol in designated areas of the Pacific Ocean.
According to Zhang, the operations are not aimed at any third country and hold no direct connection to ongoing international or regional developments. The drills reflect routine defence collaboration and growing coordination between Beijing and Moscow.
