In a key diplomatic meeting in Beijing, China once again voiced its strong support for Pakistan’s ongoing efforts against terrorism. Wang Yi, director of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs of the Communist Party of China, met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, where both sides emphasised deepening bilateral strategic cooperation.
Wang praised Munir on his recent appointment as field marshal and lauded the Pakistani military as a firm defender of national interests and a reliable force behind the China-Pakistan friendship. Describing the two countries as “ironclad friends” and “all-weather strategic partners,” Wang highlighted that Pakistan remains a top priority in China’s regional diplomacy.
He expressed China’s readiness to collaborate closely with Islamabad to implement agreements made by the leadership of both nations. He further stressed the importance of strengthening military ties to ensure greater regional stability and mutual benefit for both peoples.
General Munir, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment, said China has always stood by Pakistan through all circumstances and continues to enjoy widespread goodwill within Pakistani society. He thanked Beijing for its consistent support toward Pakistan’s socio-economic progress. Munir also pledged that the Pakistan Army will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens, companies, and infrastructure projects operating across Pakistan.
Both sides also exchanged views on global and regional security concerns, with a shared aim to further counterterrorism collaboration and safeguard the interests of both nations.
