China is developing a large-scale astronomy base designed to expand deep-space observation capabilities and strengthen scientific research infrastructure. According to project scientists, the site could become the world’s largest astronomy base by the mid-2030s.

The project includes investment in multiple advanced telescopes and supporting facilities. In particular, scientists are developing large optical systems expected to range from 6.5 to 14.5 meters in diameter and operate alongside additional observation instruments.
