China and Pakistan have taken a major step forward in strengthening their Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) collaboration through the China-Pakistan International TVET-Industrial Cooperation and Exchange Seminar held in Beijing.
The seminar, hosted by the China-Pakistan TVET-Industrial Centre of Excellence (CPTICE), brought together over 50 participants, including senior officials from Pakistan’s Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training and representatives of leading Chinese institutions.
Five universities, North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power, Wuxi University of Technology, Lanzhou Resources and Environment Voc-Tech University, Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College, and Tianmen Vocational College, formally joined CPTICE, marking a significant expansion of the network.
Additionally, five MoUs were signed in high-impact sectors such as electric vehicles (EVs), agriculture, intelligent manufacturing, and infrastructure. To further deepen collaboration, 11 Chinese institutions became part of the Pakistan-China International Industrial-Academic Integration Alliance (CPIA). The alliance also welcomed eight experts into its specialised expert bank, covering fields like pharmaceuticals, automotive engineering, and agricultural technology.
Another major highlight was the launch of a Teacher Training Platform designed to enhance Pakistan’s vocational training capacity, equipping youth with advanced, future-ready skills.
According to Pakistan’s Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, these initiatives represent a milestone in bilateral cooperation. By aligning industrial expertise with academic training, both countries aim to empower Pakistani youth and create a stronger foundation for long-term economic and technological partnership.
