China has expressed readiness to enhance cooperation with Germany ahead of Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s visit from February 25–26. Beijing highlighted that China–Germany collaboration has already delivered tangible benefits for both nations.
President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang will meet Merz to discuss bilateral relations, global trade stability, and practical cooperation. A delegation of 30 top German companies will accompany the chancellor, covering key sectors like automobiles, biopharmaceuticals, and industrial technologies.
Officials emphasized joint focus on emerging sectors including clean energy, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and industrial digitalization. The initiative aims to strengthen China–Germany ties, promote free trade, and ensure high-quality economic cooperation benefiting both countries and global markets.
