In a goodwill gesture, the Chinese Consulate General in Karachi, in partnership with China Overseas Ports Holding Company Pakistan Pvt. Ltd. (COPHC), has donated 3,000 food packages to deserving Gwadar families. Each package contained a 10-kg flour bag and 2 litres of cooking oil.
The ration distribution ceremony was organised by COPHC, Gwadar’s port operator, providing crucial relief to families facing difficult economic conditions. Recipients expressed heartfelt gratitude in a letter, calling it a noble initiative that offers meaningful support to Gwadar’s underprivileged community.
This is not the first such effort. A few months earlier, the Chinese Consulate in Karachi donated over 80 tons of essential supplies, including rice, flour, sugar, and oil, benefiting 4,000 families. In 2024, the Consulate also sent food aid to 2,000 rain and flood-affected families, while COPHC distributed rations to another 1,000 households.
