CG Zhao Shiren, outgoing Chinese Consul General in Lahore, highlighted Pakistan-China friendship during his farewell ceremony on January 21, 2026. He emphasized the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations and noted that bilateral ties continue to grow stronger each day.
He praised multi-domain cooperation in Punjab, from the Orange Line Metro in Lahore to industrial machinery in Faisalabad, agricultural technology, and vocational training, noting that the region has benefited significantly from early CPEC projects.
CG Zhao Shiren also mentioned that 2026, the Year of the Horse in the Chinese lunar calendar, symbolizes strength and resilience, wishing that Pakistan-China relations continue to overcome challenges and set a shining example of friendship.
He further noted the positive momentum in bilateral relations under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, strengthened by people-to-people ties, educational exchanges, policy dialogues, and growing Chinese business interest in Punjab.
