Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, visited the newly inaugurated Regional Headquarters of China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) in Pakistan. The visit included senior officials from the Ministry of Planning and coincided with the celebrations of the Chinese Spring and Lantern Festivals, reflecting the strong cultural and economic ties between the two countries.
During the briefing, CEEC officials highlighted their pivotal role in advancing CPEC energy projects, including the Suki Kinari and Azad Pattan hydropower initiatives. The company emphasized its long-term investment in Pakistan as a demonstration of confidence in the country’s development and future growth.
Ahsan Iqbal praised CEEC’s sustained contributions, noting that the company’s work strengthens Pakistan’s energy security, supports sustainable economic growth, and reflects the depth of Pakistan-China partnership. He also discussed ongoing reforms under Pakistan’s URAAN program to promote dynamic, long-term development and mutually beneficial cooperation with Chinese partners.
