The National Polio Eradication Campaign began in Gwadar district on September 21, 2026. The campaign targets 35,664 children under five across the district.
Deputy Commissioner Gwadar Naqeebullah Kakar and District Health Officer Dr. Yasir Tahir attended the launch. Kakar inaugurated the campaign by administering polio vaccine drops to a five-year-old child.
Campaign Runs Until September 24
The Gwadar polio campaign will continue from September 21 to 24. Health authorities have deployed 166 mobile teams to reach children across the district.
In addition, the campaign includes 20 supervisors, 38 area in-charges, 29 fixed centres, and 12 transit points.
Health Teams to Follow Up on Missed Children
According to Dr. Yasir Tahir, teams will cover children under five throughout Gwadar district. The campaign also includes community mobilisation and regular monitoring.
Furthermore, health workers will follow up with children who miss vaccination during the campaign. This approach aims to improve coverage and ensure more children receive polio protection.
Gwadar Steps Up Polio Prevention
The campaign brings vaccination services closer to families through mobile teams, fixed centres, and transit points. Meanwhile, supervisors and area in-charges will monitor field activities.
As a result, health authorities aim to reach the campaign’s target of 35,664 children across Gwadar district.
