Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the Green Bus Service in six more districts and announced plans to expand the eco-friendly public transport network across the province.
She made the announcement during a launch ceremony in Lahore, where she highlighted the government’s commitment to improving public transportation.
Focus on Safe and Affordable Transport
Maryam Nawaz said the Punjab government is working to make public transport safer, easier, and more accessible for citizens. She added that the Green Bus Service has received a positive public response.
Moreover, she noted that the service has especially benefited women by providing a safe and dignified mode of travel.
Expansion to All Tehsils
The chief minister announced that the next phase of the project will extend the Green Bus Service to tehsil-level areas.
Furthermore, the government plans to gradually expand the service to all 148 tehsils across Punjab, ensuring wider access to modern public transportation.

Maryam Nawaz described the Green Bus Service as an affordable and environmentally friendly transport solution. She said the initiative represents an important step toward building a modern and sustainable urban transport system.
