Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said Pakistan and China are now focusing on the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor as both countries celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations.
In his message marking the anniversary, he described the Pakistan-China partnership as an “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership” built on trust, solidarity, and long-term cooperation.
Industrialisation and Agriculture Remain Key Priorities
According to Ishaq Dar, the next phase of CPEC will prioritise industrialisation, agricultural modernisation, and socio-economic development. As a result, both countries expect improved livelihoods and stronger economic growth.
He further noted that CPEC remains the flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative and has already transformed Pakistan’s infrastructure and energy sectors over the past decade.
75 Years of Diplomatic Relations Celebrated
Meanwhile, the foreign minister congratulated the people of Pakistan and China on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
Over the years, the relationship has remained strong across different governments and generations. In addition, political leaders, businesses, professionals, and students have continued to strengthen bilateral ties.
Chinese Contribution to Development Recognised
The deputy prime minister also acknowledged the role of Chinese companies, engineers, and workers involved in development projects across Pakistan, especially under CPEC.
Furthermore, he praised their contribution to infrastructure development, energy projects, and regional connectivity.
Commitment to Regional Stability and Cooperation
At the same time, Ishaq Dar said Pakistan and China continue to cooperate closely on regional and global matters. He stressed that both countries support multilateralism, sovereignty, and regional stability through strategic coordination.
In conclusion, he expressed confidence that the “Iron-Clad Brotherhood” between Pakistan and China will continue to grow stronger in the years ahead.
