Asif Ali Zardari and Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to stronger ties with China on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
Both leaders praised China’s role in promoting peace and stability in South Asia and the Middle East.
Leaders Highlight Strategic Partnership
President Zardari described Pakistan-China relations as a partnership built on trust, cooperation, and shared interests. He also stressed the importance of expanding collaboration in trade, investment, and regional affairs.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed a high-level Chinese delegation led by Cai Dafeng. He further reiterated Pakistan’s support for regional harmony and multilateral cooperation.
PM Shehbaz to Visit China
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar announced that he will accompany PM Shehbaz on an official visit to China from May 23 to 26.
During the visit, the delegation will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. In addition, business meetings and investment discussions are expected.
Focus on Regional Peace and Cooperation
Pakistani leaders appreciated China’s diplomatic efforts for regional peace. They also emphasized stronger coordination on international issues.
Furthermore, both countries reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in infrastructure, connectivity, trade, and economic development.
