China’s special envoy on Middle East affairs, Zhai Jun, held talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan and Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi in Riyadh as tensions across the Middle East continue to rise. During the meetings, China urged all parties involved to immediately stop military operations and avoid further escalation that could worsen the regional crisis.
Chinese officials emphasized that protecting civilian lives and respecting national sovereignty must remain priorities. Beijing stressed that dialogue, diplomacy, and adherence to international principles are essential for resolving the ongoing conflict and preventing further instability in the Gulf region.
Saudi Arabia and GCC leadership welcomed China’s constructive role and acknowledged the importance of diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions. Both sides agreed that continued international cooperation and negotiations are necessary to restore peace, safeguard regional stability, and protect global energy and maritime security.
