Pakistan has urged Iran to avoid attacks in the Gulf amid growing regional tensions, warning that escalatory actions could widen the conflict and destabilise the broader Middle East. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, stressing the need for restraint and continued diplomatic engagement as the situation evolves.
According to the Foreign Office, both leaders agreed to stay in close contact over unfolding developments, underscoring the importance of constant communication at a time when security dynamics remain volatile. Islamabad also conveyed its concerns about potential attacks on Gulf countries to Tehran, emphasising the risks of further escalation and the importance of dialogue.
Diplomatic sources added that Pakistan’s outreach reflects ongoing efforts to manage regional challenges through talks and coordination, while discouraging actions that could further inflame tensions across the Gulf. Both sides reiterated the need for continued consultations and peaceful resolution of differences.
