Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated that China is ready to work with all countries to improve global human rights governance and promote fair, inclusive development.
Wang, speaking via video at the 61st UN Human Rights Council session, emphasized sovereign equality, non-interference, and rejection of double standards. He noted that China’s Global Governance Initiative has received backing from over 150 countries and international organizations.
The minister urged nations to adopt a people-oriented approach, addressing pressing issues such as artificial intelligence, climate change, and racial discrimination, while ensuring development rights remain central to global human rights agendas.
Wang reaffirmed China’s commitment to common prosperity, international justice, and a shared future, aiming to make the benefits of human rights progress accessible to all nations.
