Pakistan and China reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their long-standing strategic partnership during a ceremony in Islamabad marking the Chinese New Year. The event was attended by Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, who highlighted the resilience and growth of bilateral ties during challenging times.
Minister Malik emphasized China’s support during Pakistan’s recent economic challenges and expressed confidence that ongoing and new projects in energy and the mining sector would further boost economic growth. He noted that several major initiatives are underway and additional collaboration opportunities remain open.
Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong reaffirmed Beijing’s trust in Pakistan and commitment to work closely with Islamabad across multiple sectors, including energy and minerals. Both sides expressed optimism that 2026 would bring deeper cooperation and shared prosperity for the two nations.
