The Pakistan government has committed to strengthening the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) by activating the Integrity Management Cell (IMC) to enhance internal accountability and combat corruption. The IMC will now report directly to the FBR chairman, ensuring a high level of oversight and transparency within the institution.
As part of the reforms, anonymised complaint data will be published by June 2027, covering complaints received, investigated, and resolved without revealing sensitive details. A dedicated online platform will digitise the complaint management process, standardising and tracing corruption-related reports effectively.
An Internal Affairs Unit within FBR will enforce integrity policies, investigate misconduct at all staff levels, and coordinate with enforcement authorities, including the police, FIA, and NAB. This initiative represents a major step toward transparency, efficiency, and trust in Pakistan’s revenue and governance system.
