China’s grain output hit a new high in 2025, achieving another bumper harvest despite challenges including drought, flooding and prolonged rainfall, official data showed on Thursday.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, grain production reached approximately 714.9 million tonnes last year, marking an increase of 8.4 million tonnes compared to 2024.
The data showed that China’s total grain output has remained above 700 million tonnes for two consecutive years, highlighting the country’s agricultural resilience and food security stability.
