Pakistan and China have held detailed discussions on the progress of nearly 700 products under the third phase of the China-Pakistan Free Trade Agreement. The talks focused on improving trade balance, expanding export access, and strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
During a high-level meeting between Pakistan’s Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan and Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, both sides reviewed current trade performance and ongoing negotiations. Pakistan emphasized securing market access comparable to ASEAN economies and easing trade procedures through agricultural protocols and border facilitation.
Officials highlighted the need to shift Pakistan’s exports from raw materials toward value-added goods in textiles, minerals, and meat. Both countries agreed to continue dialogue to unlock new trade opportunities, enhance agricultural exports, and sustain momentum in bilateral economic engagement.
