In a significant development for regional trade and infrastructure cooperation, leading logistics and business enterprises from Pakistan and China have agreed to form a China–Pakistan Joint Business Consortium to develop a regional logistics hub. The initiative aims to strengthen connectivity and modernize logistics frameworks under the broader vision of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The agreement was formalized during a meeting between representatives of Pakistani logistics firms and a high-level Chinese delegation from the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) and Precise Development (HK) Limited. The collaboration marks a major step toward improving trade efficiency, transport infrastructure, and cross-border supply chain integration between the two countries.

Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU), Pakistan Intermodal Limited (PIL) and Habib Rafiq (Pvt) Limited (HRL) will work alongside ACFIC and Precise Development (HK) Limited to establish a robust framework that facilitates the inclusion of Chinese logistics enterprises within Pakistan’s growing logistics ecosystem. The project is expected to enhance Pakistan’s capacity as a regional logistics hub, aligning with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs’ strategic vision led by Federal Minister Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry.

The MoU was signed by Zahid Nadeem, CEO of HRL; David Chu, CEO of Precise Development (HK) Limited; and Aasim A. Siddiqui, CEO of PIL. It outlines the creation of a joint B2B Working Group that will oversee the implementation of logistics projects and foster long-term partnerships between public and private sector stakeholders.

The Chinese delegation comprised Yi Jiang, Director of ACFIC; David Chu; and He He Amanda, Director of Precise Development (HK) Limited. Representatives from several major Chinese logistics companies, including Yunchuan Cross-Border Company and Shenzhen A&E Container Transportation Co. Ltd., also participated in the meeting.

The coordination of the meeting was managed by Khalid Taimur Akram, Director (Eurasian Region) of Precise Development (HK) Limited. Participants highlighted that the new consortium would not only enhance trade facilitation but also streamline logistics operations, reduce transit costs, and increase supply chain efficiency across the region.

Officials further noted that this partnership reflects the deepening of Pakistan–China economic cooperation under CPEC and the Belt and Road Initiative. By leveraging China’s advanced logistics expertise and Pakistan’s strategic geographic position, the collaboration aims to transform Pakistan into a central hub for regional trade and transport, promoting greater economic integration across South and Central Asia.
