Pakistan has raised serious concerns at the United Nations during discussions on a proposed international treaty aimed at preventing crimes against humanity. Addressing the UN preparatory panel, Pakistan highlighted ongoing human rights violations in disputed territories, stressing that such actions undermine global justice and international law.
The Pakistani delegation emphasized that crimes against civilians, including enforced disappearances, excessive use of force, and denial of basic rights, must not go unaddressed. Pakistan called for accountability and urged the international community to ensure that any future treaty fully aligns with existing UN conventions and legal frameworks.
Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to supporting oppressed peoples through diplomatic and legal means and stressed the importance of impartial global mechanisms. The delegation urged UN member states to work collectively to prevent impunity, protect civilian populations, and uphold the principles of justice and self-determination.
