Lahore’s Orange Line Metro Rail has completed five years of operations, crossing an impressive total of 270 million passengers since its launch in October 2020. The metro, stretching over 27 kilometers with 26 strategically located stations, provides a dependable and time-efficient alternative to congested road travel, serving over 250,000 daily commuters.
The system features modern rolling stock, automated signalling, and air-conditioned coaches, ensuring punctuality, comfort, and accessibility for passengers of all ages, including women, elderly citizens, and people with disabilities. The metro has completed over 512,000 trips in five years with a punctuality rate close to 99 percent, demonstrating its reliability as a core urban transport solution.
Beyond transportation, the Orange Line Metro Rail has generated more than 2,000 local jobs, contributing to skill development and economic opportunities in the region. The metro continues to play a vital role in Lahore’s urban planning and mobility strategy, supporting sustainable city growth while providing an efficient, safe, and modern commuting experience.
