Pakistan and China have signed a landmark MoU to enhance cooperation in technical and vocational education, with a focus on globally recognised certification programs. The agreement, signed between Pakistan’s National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) and China Global Professional and Technical Certification Center (CGPTC), aims to improve employability of Pakistani youth in international job markets.
Under the MoU, NAVTTC Chairperson Gulmina Bilal was appointed as the first rotating chairperson of CGPTC’s International Vocational Certification Council. The collaboration includes the introduction of a “skills passport” framework to align Pakistan’s vocational training standards with global benchmarks, facilitating industrial collaboration and workforce integration.
During the first leg of the China visit, the Pakistani delegation signed agreements with ten Chinese educational institutions across sectors including energy, agriculture, smart manufacturing, IT, and infrastructure. These initiatives are expected to strengthen academic-industrial integration, promote technology transfer, and open new international career opportunities for Pakistani professionals.
