Pak Graduates Complete Advanced Training In China
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A cohort of 100 Pakistani agricultural graduates has successfully finished six months of advanced training in China under the Prime Minister’s 1,000-Graduate Initiative. The program, hosted at Southwest University of Science and Technology (SWUST) in Mianyang, provided in-depth, hands-on training in crop breeding, genomics, and climate-smart agricultural techniques.

The training covered modern farming practices, precision agriculture, genome-editing technologies such as CRISPR-Cas9, molecular biotechnology, smart agriculture automation, and AI applications in crop improvement. Participants described the program as transformative, enhancing their technical expertise and preparing them to contribute to Pakistan’s agricultural research and food security efforts.

Ambassador Khalil Hashmi congratulated the graduates, highlighting agriculture’s crucial role in Pakistan’s economy. He encouraged participants to utilize their newly acquired skills to improve productivity and foster collaboration between Pakistan and China. The initiative continues across multiple Chinese universities, aiming to modernize Pakistan’s agricultural sector through research exposure, technology transfer, and human resource development.
