South Korean President Lee Jae Myung has called for expanding cooperation with China in artificial intelligence and cultural industries, describing these areas as new drivers for strengthening bilateral trade ties. He made the remarks while addressing a business forum attended by senior executives from leading companies of both countries in Beijing.
President Lee said South Korea and China share deeply interconnected industrial supply chains and have jointly contributed to global economic growth. However, he noted that rapid technological changes and increasing uncertainty in global supply chains require both nations to move beyond traditional cooperation models.
Highlighting that bilateral trade has remained around 300 billion dollars annually, Lee stressed the need to explore future-oriented growth engines. He emphasized that cooperation in AI, advanced technologies, and cultural content could deepen collaboration across manufacturing and services, opening new economic opportunities for both sides.
