The Pak-China Friendship Hospital in Gwadar treated over 432,000 patients in 2025, offering free healthcare services to low-income residents of the port city and surrounding areas of Balochistan. The hospital’s outpatient and emergency departments saw rising demand, with women and children among the main beneficiaries.
The hospital provides a wide range of medical services, including gynecology, orthopedics, neurology, gastroenterology, pediatrics, dentistry, and oncology, alongside treatments for infections, diabetes, and high blood pressure. It operates a paperless system designed to simplify procedures, even for patients who are illiterate.
Built at a cost of $100 million under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework, the 150-bed hospital spans 68 acres with six blocks, including medical, residential, nursing, a paramedical institute, a medical college, and a central laboratory. Managed by Indus Hospital & Health Network as a non-profit, it exemplifies broader China-Pakistan health cooperation under initiatives like the “Health Silk Road.”
