Pakistan’s seafood exports to China grew significantly in January–November 2025, rising 24% to approximately $235.7 million compared to $188.95 million during the same period in 2024. Officials attributed the growth to increased Chinese demand for high-quality seafood products, particularly frozen fish, fresh crab, and frozen cuttlefish and squid.
Enhanced logistics and trade facilitation under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) have streamlined shipments, ensuring timely delivery and consistent supply. Additionally, improvements in seafood processing in Pakistan have helped meet China’s strict food safety and quality standards, further solidifying Pakistan’s reputation as a dependable supplier.
Officials anticipate continued growth in seafood exports to China, supported by rising consumption among China’s expanding middle class and the strengthening of bilateral trade infrastructure. Key categories, such as frozen fish exports, saw the highest increase, while fresh crab and squid exports also contributed to the overall surge, highlighting the sector’s potential for long-term expansion.
