A Chinese business delegation visited the United States from December 2–6, 2025, engaging with US companies to enhance economic cooperation. Organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) at the invitation of the US Chamber of Commerce, the delegation held meetings in Washington, San Francisco, and Oakland.
Over 170 US companies participated in discussions with the Chinese delegation, covering sectors such as agriculture, logistics, technology, and cross-border trade. The meetings aimed to translate high-level political agreements into actionable business cooperation, enabling direct communication channels and efficient collaboration.
Business leaders emphasized that the engagement should go beyond ceremonial “meet-and-greet” interactions and serve as a foundation for long-term cooperation. The delegation facilitated cross-sector exchanges, joint ventures, and sector-specific dialogues, strengthening the confidence of both sides in planning investments and expanding trade.
Highlights included a direct connection between COFCO Oils and Oilseeds and US-based Corteva Agriscience, improving communication efficiency and bypassing traditional intermediary channels. Chinese companies specializing in logistics and cold-chain supply also advanced cross-border operations in the North American market.
Experts noted that the visit underscored the strong willingness for cooperation between China and the US and demonstrated the vast potential for economic and trade engagement. Participants expressed expectations for formalized follow-ups and sustained implementation of agreements to ensure lasting progress in bilateral business relations.
