Balochistan’s Public Health Engineer Minister, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, highlighted that providing clean drinking water to Gwadar residents remains the top priority of the provincial government. During a visit to the PHE office, he received a detailed briefing on water supply challenges, including maintenance of pipelines, tanker services, and the operation of desalination plants.
The minister instructed officials to remove all obstacles in water distribution immediately and ensure timely reporting on project progress. He emphasized that Gwadar, being the economic gateway of Balochistan, requires uninterrupted basic services, and no negligence would be tolerated in delivering drinking water to citizens.
Further, the meeting reviewed proposals for additional water tankers, continuous electricity supply for water systems, and strategies to ensure adequate water provision for densely populated areas. Minister Khetran urged strengthened coordination among officers and effective field strategies to enhance public relief and water access.
