Bahawalpur Industrial Zone is witnessing a wave of industrial expansion as eight new factories are being set up under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework. Officials say this development reflects a renewed focus on boosting regional investment and attracting both domestic and international businesses.
The provincial government has reduced land rates and streamlined administrative processes, making Bahawalpur an attractive destination for industries linked to CPEC supply chains. Muhammad Sami, senior official at Punjab Industrial Estate Development and Management Company, said these policies have unlocked significant investor interest.
The new factories are expected to create hundreds of jobs, enhance revenue, and contribute to Pakistan’s broader economic recovery. Officials highlighted that improved road connectivity and other essential services aligned with CPEC corridors have facilitated this growth.
Industrialists welcomed the government’s long-term approach, noting that affordable energy and continued policy support will be critical for sustained industrialisation. The Bahawalpur zone is now emerging as a key hub for manufacturing, vocational training, and export-oriented industrial clusters under CPEC’s second phase.
