China and Vietnam are set to conduct their 39th joint naval patrol in the Beibu Gulf from Wednesday to Thursday, the Chinese Defense Ministry announced. The exercise involves a vessel formation including guided-missile frigates and destroyers from both navies.
According to the ministry, the joint patrols are part of prior agreements aimed at strengthening practical cooperation between the two militaries. The exercises focus on enhancing the ability to jointly safeguard maritime security in the region.
These operations reflect continued efforts by China and Vietnam to maintain stability in shared waters and improve coordination between their naval forces. Such patrols have become a regular feature of bilateral military collaboration, demonstrating trust and operational readiness.
The ministry emphasized that these joint patrols contribute to regional security while providing valuable experience in coordinated maritime operations for both countries’ naval personnel.
