In a significant step towards regional cooperation and agricultural trade expansion under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Pakistan’s premium mangoes have officially entered the Chinese market through Xinjiang, rebranded as BA BA Mango. This launch marks more than just a fruit export; it’s a strategic initiative intertwining trade, education, and cross-border collaboration.
Led by UNI International under an Industry-Academia Integration framework, the project aims to fuse Pakistan’s agricultural strength with China’s vocational and academic capabilities. The goal is to ensure high export quality standards while encouraging joint research, skills development, and long-term sustainability in the fruit export sector.
A spokesperson from UNI International described the initiative as a gateway to broader cooperation: “This is not only a commercial venture, but also a platform for academic innovation, sustainable trade practices, and bilateral growth.”
Pakistani mangoes, particularly Sindhri, Chaunsa, and Anwar Ratol, have long been admired for their rich flavour, aroma, and texture. Their arrival in Xinjiang’s vibrant markets is a cultural milestone that reflects rising Chinese demand and strengthens grower-consumer ties between the two countries.
The slogan “Sweet taste. Smarter trade. Stronger ties.” encapsulates the vision behind the collaboration, which stands at the intersection of agriculture, academia, and diplomacy. As Pakistan continues to expand its agri-exports to China, such ventures signal a growing era of mutual benefit, knowledge-sharing, and people-to-people connectivity.
