Three Pakistan Army personnel, including a major, were martyred in Mastung district after Indian-backed terrorists from the group “Fitna al Hindustan” targeted their vehicle with an improvised explosive device (IED), according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The attack took place on the night of August 5–6. The martyred soldiers were identified as Major Muhammad Rizwan Tahir (31) from Narowal, Naik Ibni Amin (37) from Swabi, and Lance Naik Muhammad Younas (33) from Karak. ISPR praised Major Rizwan as a fearless officer known for leading counter-terrorism operations from the front.
Following the deadly attack, security forces launched a swift sanitisation operation, killing four terrorists linked to the blast. The military vowed to continue operations until all hostile elements are eliminated.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s resolve, ISPR stated, “Security forces remain committed to eradicating Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country. The sacrifices of our brave soldiers only strengthen this resolve.”
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the incident, paying tribute to the fallen soldiers and expressing solidarity with their families. “The entire nation salutes our martyrs,” he said, commending the swift action of the security forces and describing them as a “steel wall” guarding the country.
The premier also reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to eliminating terrorism in all its forms, acknowledging the unmatched sacrifices of the armed forces in the ongoing fight against militancy.
