Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar is set to lead Pakistan’s delegation at the three-day meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers, which begins today in Tianjin, China.
He is participating in the meeting at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
The event will bring together foreign ministers from all SCO member states, including Pakistan, China, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Notably, the Foreign Minister of Belarus will attend the Council meeting for the first time since Belarus became a member of the SCO.
The Council of Foreign Ministers is recognized as the third highest decision-making body within the SCO structure.
During the visit, Ishaq Dar is also expected to hold bilateral discussions with several of his counterparts on the sidelines of the main event.
