This three-day event, hosted in collaboration with Chinese firms from Hunan Province and the China Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria, focuses on boosting Africa’s agricultural and industrial capabilities.
At the opening ceremony, Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation, Sa’idu Alkali, praised the expo as a timely initiative aligning with the government’s infrastructure-focused “Renewed Hope Agenda.” He highlighted the role of such collaborations in accelerating Nigeria’s railway modernization project.
Alkali stressed that sustained partnerships with China would enhance Nigeria’s transportation infrastructure, ensuring it is accessible, safe, and environmentally friendly.
Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, described the expo as transformative for Africa, especially in industrialization and agricultural mechanization. He emphasized that CAETE represents more than just a display of products—it is a platform for African nations to effectively harness resources and elevate industries to global standards.
Yu also highlighted the dual significance of the expo, which coincides with the 18th China Engineering Technology Exhibition, serving as a hub for technological and knowledge transfer. He called for continued collaboration between China and Africa to address shared challenges and unlock mutual growth opportunities.
Further, the ambassador noted that such partnerships could drive sustainable development, improve agricultural practices, and advance industrialization across Africa.
Moreover, the expo, featuring innovative agricultural technologies and industrial solutions, has garnered strong interest from Nigerian stakeholders eager to partner with Chinese firms.
Local participants expressed optimism that the event would further strengthen China-Africa economic ties, particularly in areas critical to Africa’s development.
