BEIJING, July 25 – Pakistan Ambassador to China Hashmi concludes official visit to Kunming city in China where he attended the 8th China-South Asia Expo.
Pakistan Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, visited Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province in Southwestern China, from July 22-24.
Invited by Yunnan’s provincial authorities for the 8th China-South Asia Expo, where Pakistan was the theme country of honour, Ambassador Hashmi addressed several key forums including the 5th China-South Asia Cooperation Forum, the 17th China-South Asia Business Forum, and a collaboration event involving government, industry, academia, and research from China and South Asia.
During his visit, he met with Yunnan’s political leadership, held discussions with academia and enterprises, and engaged with media outlets.
At the China-South Asia Expo, Ambassador Hashmi inaugurated the Pakistan Pavilion, highlighting the substantial participation of Pakistani entities such as FPCCI, KCCI, and 180 businessmen. He emphasized the importance of such platforms for regional connectivity, noting the positive trajectory of Pakistan-China trade and investment relations, further strengthened by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit.
Ambassador Hashmi toured the Pakistan Pavilion, visiting booths of participating businesses. In his speeches, he stressed Pakistan’s commitment to regional connectivity, economic integration, and its robust partnership with China, particularly under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He called for enhanced multifaceted cooperation despite regional and international challenges.
On the diplomatic front, he highlighted the importance of peacefully resolving disputes and maintaining regional peace and stability as prerequisites for prosperity and development.
As Ambassador Hashmi concludes official visit to Kunming, China he interacted with Yunnan’s political leaders, enterprises, academia, and media; Ambassador Hashmi focused on deepening practical cooperation for the mutual benefit of Pakistan and China.
