6G technology has become a major focus during the ongoing Two Sessions, attracting strong attention from lawmakers policy advisers and technology experts. The next generation network was highlighted in the government work report as one of the key industries China plans to develop for the future.
Experts say 6G could bring faster connectivity and a wider range of digital services. Yang Jie noted that the technology may see widespread use in China by the end of the country’s 15th Five-Year Plan period from 2026 to 2030 and emphasized the importance of global cooperation to create unified standards.
Specialists also believe the new technology will integrate satellite air ground and sea communication systems while combining networks with artificial intelligence and sensing technologies. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China has already completed the first phase of 6G technology trials and has started the second phase as part of its push to lead future communication innovation.
