Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) and Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote academic–industry collaboration, enhance student development, and strengthen financial services for the university and its affiliated institutions. The partnership aims to create value for students, faculty, and staff through capacity-building programs and improved access to modern banking solutions.
Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, Vice Chancellor, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Niamat Ullah Babar, Pro Vice Chancellor, attended the ceremony. ZTBL President/CEO Tahir Yaqoob Bhatti emphasized empowering youth and strengthening the professional talent pool, highlighting that ZTBL has hired over 600 fresh graduates/postgraduates in the last two years and is recruiting 300 more Mobile Credit Officers (MCOs)/OG-IIIs.
The bank, with over 500 branches nationwide, provides students with financial access, training, and career opportunities, particularly benefiting underserved regions. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal praised ZTBL’s initiative, noting the partnership will bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world skills.
Both institutions expressed confidence that this collaboration will create long-term value, enhance industry–academia linkages, and benefit youth development. Additionally, ZTBL pledged support for efficient water-resource management and rainwater utilization initiatives in collaboration with the university.
