Xi congratulates Dan on election as President of Romania and stresses the early establishment of relations between the two countries.
Chinese President Xi Jinping extended his congratulations to Nicușor Dan on being elected as the President of Romania on Thursday.
He highlighted Romania’s early establishment of diplomatic ties with the People’s Republic of China, being the third country in the world to do so. Xi noted that the two nations have long maintained mutual respect and equality, with bilateral cooperation steadily progressing and traditional friendship continuing to grow.
Xi remarked that the world is undergoing rapid changes not seen in a century and emphasized that China and Romania, as close friends and partners, should strengthen dialogue, enhance mutual understanding, and deepen cooperation to seize emerging opportunities and confront global challenges together.
He further stated that he values the development of China-Romania relations and looks forward to working with President Dan to open a new chapter in their partnership, ultimately bringing greater benefits to both nations.
