Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed the supplementary award delivered by the Court of Arbitration under the Permanent Court of Arbitration concerning the Indus Waters Treaty.
In his statement, the Prime Minister noted that the court’s decision strengthens Pakistan’s position that India does not have the authority to unilaterally halt the implementation of the treaty.
He highlighted that efforts related to water resource management are actively underway, stressing that water is essential to Pakistan’s survival and development.
The Prime Minister also commended Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar and Attorney General Mansoor Awan for their contributions to this important legal achievement.
