Foreign envoys emphasize cooperation in peaceful use of nuclear technology as the delegation from various countries visited nuclear centers in China.
Ambassadors and envoys from the permanent missions to the United Nations and other international organizations in Vienna, representing eight countries, highlighted the importance of international cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear technology during their visit to China.
Representatives from Ghana, Brazil, Namibia, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Pakistan, Venezuela, and Indonesia toured nuclear technology demonstration and innovation centers located in Shandong Province and Beijing.
During their visit, they held discussions with Chinese officials and nuclear experts and participated in a symposium in Beijing focused on collaboration in peaceful nuclear technology applications.
The program, which ran from June 22 to 27, was jointly organized by the China Atomic Energy Authority (CAEA) and China’s Permanent Mission to the UN and other international bodies in Vienna.
The CAEA emphasized China’s progress in promoting safe and sustainable nuclear energy development and its commitment to using nuclear technology for social advancement. It also shared its ongoing and future plans to expand cooperation with developing countries in this domain.
The visiting envoys acknowledged China’s leadership and achievements in nuclear energy, particularly its role in promoting peaceful applications among Global South countries. They expressed a strong interest in deepening cooperation with China in areas such as nuclear medicine, agriculture, and safety.
The CAEA reaffirmed its dedication to working with the International Atomic Energy Agency and Global South partners to drive innovation and shared development in nuclear technology
