Shehbaz Sharif has ordered faster reform measures to transform Pakistan Railways into a modern, safe, and reliable transport system.
He issued these directives during a meeting with Hanif Abbasi in Islamabad.
The prime minister emphasized the timely completion of ongoing railway projects. He also instructed officials to use all available resources to improve passenger facilities and ensure safer and more affordable travel.
Moreover, Shehbaz Sharif stressed that the government will avoid placing additional financial burden on the public. Instead, authorities will focus on improving system efficiency to increase revenue.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to public welfare. In addition, he highlighted the need to enhance the performance of all departments to support national development.
During the meeting, Hanif Abbasi briefed the prime minister on operational matters. He assured that, given the current regional situation, authorities will not increase fares for operational trains across the country.
Overall, the reform agenda aims to modernize railway infrastructure, improve service quality, and strengthen public trust in the transport system.
