Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong reaffirmed the enduring Pakistan-China “iron brother” relationship during a meeting at the Prime Minister House on Monday.
The meeting reviewed bilateral cooperation, regional developments, and the implementation of key agreements between the two countries.
Pakistan Reaffirms Strategic Partnership
Prime Minister Shehbaz conveyed his warm greetings to Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership and recalled his visit to China in May this year.
Moreover, the prime minister said both countries would continue working closely to implement the important decisions and agreements reached by their leadership for the mutual benefit of their people.
Regional Issues Discussed
The two sides also exchanged views on regional developments, including the situations in the Middle East, Afghanistan, and South Asia.
Furthermore, they emphasized the importance of continued coordination on issues affecting regional peace, stability, and development.
Senior Officials Attend Meeting
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Adviser to the Prime Minister Dr. Syed Tauqir Shah, and Foreign Secretary Amb. Amna Baloch.
Their participation reflected the importance both governments attach to strengthening bilateral cooperation across political, economic, and strategic sectors.
China Reaffirms Support for Pakistan
Ambassador Jiang thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz for receiving him and reiterated that China regards Pakistan as an “iron brother.”
He said China would continue supporting Pakistan in safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity while deepening cooperation to promote the country’s socio-economic development.
The ambassador also reaffirmed China’s commitment to further strengthening the long-standing strategic partnership between the two countries.
