Pakistan’s home textile exports to China rise 31%

Pakistan’s home textile sector has recorded significant growth in exports to China in the first nine months of 2025.  According to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), exports of home textile goods from Pakistan to China reached $4.36 million between January and September, up 31% year-on-year from $3.32 million in the same period of 2024.

The growth is being attributed to a mix of improved product quality, better market access, and preferential trade terms under the China‑Pakistan Free Trade Agreement (CPFTA), which grants Pakistan a zero-tariff advantage for certain textile exports.

Breaking the figures down further:

  • Exports of printed cotton bed-linen (HS code 63022190) soared from $0.849 million in Jan–Sept 2024 to $1.577 million in the same stretch of 2025; Pakistan also shipped 190,463 kg of this product to China.

  • Blankets and travelling rugs of cotton increased significantly from $0.018 million last year to $0.353 million this year.

  • Cotton bed sheets (not knitted, crocheted, printed or embroidered) climbed from $0.406 million to $0.544 million in the same period.

Industry insiders say that the surge reflects both the strength of Pakistan’s value-added textile manufacturing, and the rising demand in the Chinese market for comfort & home-textile goods. The competitiveness is bolstered by CPFTA’s zero-tariff scheme for Pakistan’s exports into China, a critical advantage.

Looking ahead, analysts suggest that sustaining this momentum will require continuous investment in finishing technology, design innovation and maintaining compliance with Chinese import quality standards. The positive trend in this niche segment signals an opportunity for Pakistan’s home-textile industry to deepen its footprint in one of the world’s largest consumer markets.
