Eleven Pakistani college students qualified for the national final of the 25th Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students, held online on May 18. They demonstrated strong Mandarin skills and cultural performance under the theme “One World, One Family.”
The Pakistan regional final brought together participants from Confucius Institutes in Islamabad, Faisalabad, Sargodha, and Lahore. During the speech round, contestants spoke about global unity and cross-cultural understanding. Meanwhile, the talent segment featured poetry recitation, Chinese songs, calligraphy, traditional painting, dance, and stand-up crosstalk.
After evaluation, judges announced winners across first, second, and third positions. Pakistani champion Yun Hai called the achievement a major milestone and thanked his teachers and peers for their support and encouragement.
The Chinese Bridge competition is an international Chinese language event organized by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under China’s Ministry of Education. The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan supports the Pakistan regional final.
Since 2002, the competition has connected over 1.7 million students from more than 160 countries, while more than 7,000 finalists have travelled to China for the global stage.
