The joint counter-terrorism exercise, Dosti-II, between Pakistan and Tajikistan concluded successfully on August 9, 2026, at the Fakhrobod Base in Tajikistan. The exercise saw active participation from two combat teams of Pakistan Army’s Light Commando Battalion and four combat teams from the Tajikistan Special Forces.
Designed to enhance counter-terrorism capabilities, the exercise focused on refining operational drills, procedures, and tactical techniques through joint training sessions. This collaboration further strengthened the military-to-military ties between the two friendly nations, achieving all set training and diplomatic objectives.
The closing ceremony was attended by senior military officials from both countries. Pakistan’s Defence Attaché to Tajikistan, Colonel Muhammad Muazzam Zafar, honoured the event as the chief guest. The troops from both sides were lauded for their high professional standards and exceptional performance throughout the exercise.
Dosti-II not only reinforced the historic bond between Pakistan and Tajikistan but also served as a vital platform to elevate joint counter-terrorism operational readiness and cooperation.
