Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held key bilateral meetings with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan on the sidelines of the Emergency Arab–Islamic Summit in Doha, following Israel’s recent strike on Qatar. Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir accompanied him in the meetings.
In talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Prime Minister condemned Israel’s actions as a deliberate attempt to derail Middle East peace efforts. He praised the Crown Prince’s leadership in unifying the Muslim world and assured Pakistan’s full diplomatic backing at the UN Security Council, the OIC, and other multilateral platforms. Both leaders reaffirmed their historic bonds, with the Saudi Crown Prince noting that Shehbaz’s upcoming state visit to Riyadh would further strengthen bilateral and regional cooperation.
During his meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the Prime Minister voiced Pakistan’s strongest condemnation of Israel’s aggression, terming it reckless and a blatant violation of international law. He lauded Egypt’s proactive diplomacy at this critical moment and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Cairo in trade, investment, and health. Both sides expressed solidarity with Qatar and agreed Israel must be held accountable for violating sovereignty and undermining regional stability.
Later, in discussions with King Abdullah II of Jordan, Shehbaz again condemned Israel’s attack on Doha as a grave violation of law and a threat to peace. He praised the Jordanian monarch’s steadfast stance on the Palestinian cause, with both leaders underscoring the urgency of Muslim unity and agreeing to continue close consultations to mobilise international support for Palestine and regional peace.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the Doha summit had sent a unified and powerful message: the Muslim world stands together against Israel’s unlawful aggression and will continue to push for accountability and justice.
